Masters of Music in Violin Performance

Beverly holds a Masters of Music in Violin Performance from the University of Washington where she studied with Emanual Zetlin, Donald McInnes and Denes Zsigmondy.  Post graduate studies include work with Irv Eisenberg, Yuriy Mikhlin and Margaret Pressley.  Piano studies with Katherine Strickland.  Fiddle studies with Ruthie Dornfeld and Brian Wicklund. 

Beverly’s free lance and solo engagements include work with some of the area’s finest conductors and musicians:  Dr. Stanley Chapple, Paul Elliott Cobbs, George Shangrow, Karen Thomas, Hans Wolf, Fred Coleman, Roger Nelson, James Van Horn, Andrew Bernard, Jaared Powell, David Mahler, R. Joseph Scott, Kenton Lee, David Gentry, Wallie Goleky, Kenneth DeJong, Jim Denman, Lauren Anderson, Claire Garabedian , Brian Davenport and Stuart Dempster.

Assistant concert master  positions include Seattle’s Pro Musica and Thalia Orchestra,  Bellevue Symphony Orchestra, and the Bremerton Symphony Orchestra.  Beverly was concert master for Port Gardner Bay Festival Chamber Orchestra in Everett. 

Beverly was a soloist  with Holzhausen Chamber Orchestra in Germany, and in the Elmau International Music Festival in Europe.  She was a soloist with Thalia Orchestra, Bremerton Symphony Orchestra,  Seattle Pro Musica and Gamelon Pacifica.  She has appeared as soloist or recitalist in the University of Washington Bartok Festival, Brechemin Distinguished Student Series, Battelle Northwest Young Artists Series and for Video and Audio broadcasts of KCTS and KUOW.  She has been a frequent recitalist in the Seattle area, performing in the Bainbridge Performing Arts Series, the Everett Music Series, Olympia College Benefit, Seattle Art Museum Recital Series, University and Eastshore Unitarian Church Recital Series’,  and a 2-part performance at the Georgetown Steamplant.

Beverly has had her own violin duo and been a member of the Bellevue Quartet and the Bellevue Philharmonic Quartet. 

Her teaching career includes a stint at University of Puget Sound as a Suzuki instructor, violin instructor for the Gene Nastri School of Music in Everett and violin instructor in Seattle Public School’s “SPACE” program.  She has taught violin and piano for more than 30 years in her private studios in various teaching locations in the greater Seattle area. 

In her spare time Beverly is a volunteer working with dogs at the Everett Animal Shelter, takes care of her own menagerie of 3 cats and two dogs, takes frequent 3-mile walks with her dogs in a beautiful wetlands area, practices her violin, and ballroom dances with her life-partner Ed.
